The Back Forty Web Site
The Back Forty aims to highlight progressive and innovative thinking about effective biodiversity and ecosystem conservation issues in all of their social, institutional, and biophysical dimensions. A strong emphasis is placed on examining the underlying economic and political causes of biodiversity loss and environmental degradation, and formulating effective strategies in response to these fundamental challenges.
This site provides news, longer feature articles, reviews of books and journal publications, and the most useful links to cutting edge conservation ideas. Ultimately, the site’s purpose is to become a leading source of information exchange for conservation practitioners around the world, not only from the site’s own postings but from the comments and submissions of readers within the broader community of conservationists.
This project was ordered by one of the contacts I made while I was in Tanzania. Since this site is a blog with all the built-in features that you expect, I chose to use WordPress with a few added modules such as cforms and image captions. The template is an adaptation bought on Template Monster.
