Arusha NGO Network Web Site
ANGONET is an acronym for Arusha NGO Network. It is a regional Umbrella body for Civil Society Organizations primarily addressing development and advocacy issues in and outside Arusha in Tanzania.
The web site is a directory of all the non-governmental organizations in the region of Arusha. Everyone can register its organization. Once approved, the member of this organization can add content such as mission statement, new projects, and so forth.
The site was developed in the year 2007 during my year as a consultant in Tanzania. It required to interview a large base of potential users of the site in order to find their need. Great efforts has been put in making the site easy to use since the use of computers is not widespread. A three month campaign was launched to spread the knowledge about this site and train the users.
