EMA logo L'Ecole des Mines d'Alès is a French Institute for Engineering and Applied Science under the tutelage of the French Ministry in charge of Industry. The school is a Grande école, the French model of institutions for training engineers. Placement is limited and admission is done through a selective exam. Eligible students should have completed one or two years in classes préparatoires.

After one year in the classe préparatoire of le Lycée Lavoisier, I entered the school in September 2001. I studied on the main facility located in Alès for three years. During this time, I studied core engineering disciplines while focusing on Computer Science and Entrepreneurship. We got practical experiences by intervening during one-month periods as consultants on various subjects such as marketing, production, or research. Furthermore, students were employed as intern each summer.

The applied research center on Materials provided a lot of scientific expertize and access to Finite Element Method software.

At the end of the third year in 2001, and before completing my fourth and last year, I decided to take a sabbatical year as a full-time software developer in Norway in order to strengthen my practical experience on the ground. At the end of this year in Norway, I went to Florida Atlantic University as an exchange student. After completing one year of study, I obtained my Engineer diploma in 2003. In 2004, I received my Master's degree in Computer Science.
